Individual Therapy

Individual occupational, speech and language therapy targets each child's specific communicative and developmental needs. These individual therapy sessions vary in length depending upon the age of the child and the severity of their disorder. Therapy sessions are a minimum of two times per week, ranging from 30 minutes to an hour.

Groups

Play Groups. These small group sessions are designed for children age 2 through 6. Groups are tailored to address early developmental milestones for play. Each group of two to three children is carefully matched by chronological and language ages. A licensed, skilled facilitator directs the naturalistic interaction providing assistance throughout the session. Length of session varies depending on the age of participants.

Social Awareness Groups. Social awareness groups consist of two to four children ages 7 and above. One licensed and certified speech-language pathologist trained in social/pragmatic group therapy leads each session. Social awareness groups typically range from 60 to 90 minutes, one to two times per week, and target the following areas:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Abstract reasoning
  • Perspective taking
  • Flexibility
  • Peer interaction skills
