Is my child's speech and/or language delayed?

How do I know if my child is appropriate for a social awareness group?

Children that would be appropriate for the social awareness groups may exhibit any of the following:

  • Difficulties with critical thinking
  • Lack of initiation across situations
  • Difficulties in processing the verbal and non-verbal aspects of social exchanges (e.g. body language, tone, sarcasm, humor)
  • Decreased organization
  • Difficulty with understanding the perspective of others
  • Inability to join a group
  • Academically excels but is unable to participate in group activities (e.g. group studies, projects
  • Difficulty with creative thinking
