How do I know if my child is appropriate for a social awareness
group?
Children that would be appropriate for the social awareness groups
may exhibit any of the following:
- Difficulties with critical thinking
- Lack of initiation across situations
- Difficulties in processing the verbal and non-verbal aspects of
social exchanges (e.g. body language, tone, sarcasm, humor)
- Decreased organization
- Difficulty with understanding the perspective of others
- Inability to join a group
- Academically excels but is unable to participate in group activities
(e.g. group studies, projects
- Difficulty with creative thinking
